As a Councilor Jamie Cassutt fights for families and their children to get a fair shake. That is why she passed legislation making it easier for childcare centers to open their doors. She also championed a $900,000 investment for childcare workforce development programs, which expanded available slots in daycare. As a single Mom, Councilor Cassutt knows that childcare is an economic equity issue. When people cannot find a safe place for their children, they can't work. In this community we know there are many households, like the Councilor's, with only one parent and one income. In addition to her passion for making quality childcare accessible to all, Cassutt has worked diligently to create a family friendly Santa Fe, by ensuring millions in funding to improve our parks, increase availability of sports fields, and forge public-private partnerships to increase activities for youth.
